South Florida Tops Pitt in Big East Tourney

The University of South Florida scored on a two-out error in the top of the ninth inning to beat Pitt, 2-1, Tuesday in the opening round of the Big East Conference baseball tournament at KeySpan Park in Brooklyn, N.Y.

USF right fielder Joey Angelberger scored on second baseman Dan Williams' throwing error to first, one of six committed by the Panthers. Bulls right-handed pitcher Danny Otero -- who tossed a complete-game three-hitter -- retired the final three batters for the victory.
