Standoff in Homewood Ends Peacefully

Pittsburgh police will ask court officials to order a psychiatric evaluation for a Homewood man accused of pointing a gun at his landlord and barricading himself inside his home on Monday.

A number of streets in the heart of Homewood were closed throughout the afternoon rush hour for the standoff that ended peacefully about 6:45 p.m. when the man -- identified as Robert Campbell Jr., 50 -- surrendered after officers fired tear gas into the house on Frankstown Avenue near the intersection with North Homewood Avenue.
