Steelers' Townsend Back to Practice, Expected to Play

Summary

Cornerback Deshea Townsend (groin) practiced Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice and is expected to play in Sunday's home opener against Buffalo at Heinz Field. Outside linebacker Marquis Cooper (hamstring), who missed the season opener in Cleveland, did not practice yesterday.

Coach Mike Tomlin talked about on what his fullbacks, Dan Kreider and Carey Davis, bring to the offense. Kreider "is still a great isolation, short-yardage blocker. We had some time-consuming drives in the second half (against Cleveland), it was because Dan was playing fullback." Davis "is a very athletic guy from a fullback standpoint. He can get hats on people in space. He's a great perimeter lead blocker."
