One aspect of the Stewart's Crossing project is progressing, but funding remains uncertain.
Ralph Wombacker, executive director of the Connellsville Redevelopment Authority, said he has been in touch with Marco Marzocci, general counsel of Widewaters, the New York developer that owns Widewaters Commons at the intersection of routes 119 and 201. Stewart's Crossing is to be located at the trail head behind Martin's Food Stores in the development, and the redevelopment authority needs to widen an access road to a proposed parking lot and use of a hillside leading along the development's parking lot to Route 119.
