Summary
A tax scam that cropped up earlier in the summer in Wisconsin, California, Louisiana and Mississippi found its way to Erie about two weeks ago, an Internal Revenue Service spokesman said on Wednesday.
"These dishonest return preparers are charging a fee to prepare a false tax return on your behalf promising a large refund or rebate," said IRS spokesman David Stewart.
