Toshiba to Sell 10% of Local Firm

The Central Asian nation of Kazakhstan is poised to purchase 10 percent of Westinghouse Electric Co. for $540 million, parent company Toshiba Corp. said Monday.

Toshiba, which owns 77 percent of the Monroeville-based nuclear engineering firm, said it has signed a share-transfer agreement giving state-run energy company Kazatomprom a minority ownership of Westinghouse.
