Summary
Police killed Kermith Sonnier Jr., a Louisiana native and sometime Brownsville resident, after a botched attempt to drive him out of a place that two officers used for secret rendezvous, a lawyer claimed Friday at the opening of a $100 million federal trial.
"This is a case about the violation of public trust, deceit and abuse of power," said Robert M. Giroux Jr., who is representing the Sonnier family. Sonnier "was shot in the back after a police pursuit we believe was started by improper motives using improper tactics."See the full content of this document
