A police accountability bill that became law in Pittsburgh on Thursday will increase trust and transparency, activists said, but police said it would increase paperwork.

"This is a step in the right direction, but by no means is it the end," Mayor Luke Ravenstahl told a crowd at the Homewood Senior Center before signing the bill. "We have a long way to go."
