When University of Pittsburgh Medical Center opens its newest urgent care center Dec. 1 in Natrona Heights, it will be one of three places offering almost identical services within a five-mile radius.

"Patients want access to care that's convenient," said Dr. Robert Maha, president and chief medical officer for Emergency Resource Management Inc., a unit of UPMC. "It's something the patients want."
