The former Universal Atlas Cement Co. property in Penn Hills has been bought by a Utah company that proposes building single-family homes and a light industrial park on the sprawling site in the Thompson Run corridor.

Erekson Corp., of Salt Lake City, bought the 206-acre site for about $1 million earlier this month from Tennessee-based MM&G Associates, said James Erekson, the company's secretary and treasurer.
