HARRISBURG - Saying he doesn't regret the 2005 pay raise that cost him his seat, former House Democratic Whip Mike Veon today told reporters he is registered as a lobbyist and will work at the Capitol for U.S. Smokeless Tobacco, which makes snuff and cigars.
In his first exchange with reporters following his defeat in the November election, Veon, of Beaver Falls, said he has no plans to run again for the House seat he held for 22 years or for other elective office. Instead, he has formed Mike Veon & Associates to lobby on state issues. By law, Veon cannot lobby the House for a year but he can lobby senators and Gov.
