Virtual Reality Gains Use in Treating Soldiers

Summary


The woman toiling to change the culture of the Army, to make soldiers more resilient to combat stress after eight years of war, will convene a meeting Friday in Washington County with doctors and counselors treating wounded warriors.

Former prisoner of war Brig. Gen. Rhonda Cornum, a physician who directs the Army's Comprehensive Soldier Fitness program, will meet with Western Pennsylvania behavioral health specialists at Southpointe Golf Club in Cecil to discuss innovations the military is using to prepare troops and their families for the rigors of combat and long deployments, and treat those who are mentally and physically injured when they get home.
