County Council Votes to Limit Funding for Subway Project

Summary


Allegheny County Council will honor its commitment to pay $12.7 million toward a proposed extension of the T subway line, "but won't go forward one dime more," the council's president said.

Council voted 10-3 Wednesday night to send a letter to the Port Authority of Allegheny County asking it not to vote for the North Shore Connector, which would extend the T from Downtown to the North Shore under the Allegheny River, unless certain conditions are met.
