General Motors Corp. wants to sell its metal stamping plant in West Mifflin, a move that could save about 400 jobs at a plant the automaker intends to close next year, union leaders said Monday.
GM informed the United Auto Workers in Detroit last Thursday of its intention to sell the 800,000-square-foot plant, said Rick Mismas, shop chairman of the UAW Local 544, which represents about 370 workers at the plant.
