Westmoreland Prison Fires Guard Accused of Abuse

Summary


The Westmoreland County Prison Board fired a 10-year veteran corrections officer Monday for allegedly abusing inmates and asked District Attorney John Peck to investigate the accusations.

Scott Rogers, 38, of Mt. Pleasant, was dismissed after allegations by two other guards that Rogers abused inmates in a unit housing prisoners with mental illness, those charged with sex crimes and those in need of protective custody, Warden John Walton said.
