Westwood Woman Wins Special Council Election

Summary


Theresa N. Smith of Westwood defeated three other candidates today in a special election to fill a vacant seat on Pittsburgh's nine-member City Council, according to unofficial results.

Voters picked Smith, the endorsed Democrat, to serve out the balance of Dan Deasy's term, which expires Dec. 31. Deasy was elected in November to represent the 27th District in the state House.
