WTAE-TV has won its second prestigious national award in as many weeks for its "Fight for Open Records" reports on the frivolous spending habits of the state-run student loan agency, which cost taxpayers more than $1 million.

The station, investigative reporter Jim Parsons, news director Bob V. Longo, assistant news director Roberta Petterson, photographer Kendall Cross and editor Mike Lazorko won a George Foster Peabody Award, which honors outstanding achievements in electronic media -- radio, television and cable.
