Several volunteer fire companies in southwestern Westmoreland County managed to save a 182-year-old farmhouse in South Huntingdon Township from destruction Wednesday.
The two-story home at 600 Mt. Pleasant Road, near the Route 136 intersection, has been in the Markle family for several generations, according to Turkeytown volunteer firefighter John Stants. It was extensively damaged in the blaze, which was reported at 12:15 p.m., but the structure should be able to be repaired.See the full content of this document
